Sunday 22 June 14 -Yellowstone – lower loop road.

Today was another amazing day.  I don’t know what I was expecting to see in Yellowstone, but there is just so much here to see and do. I’ll add photos when I can, but some of today’s highlights were:
-       Old Faithful Geyser erupting – really lucky with this – it only goes approx. every 97 minutes and we only had to wait 10!
-       West Thumb thermal springs area
-       Mud Volcanos
-       Close up sighting of an elk
-       A really amazing sighting of a Grizzly bear – from a safe distance across a creek!!
-       The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

Driving has been good and we think we must have beaten the worst of the summer crowds because it isn’t too busy.  Such a beautiful and amazing place.

Finbarr and Alice have joined the junior ranger program and are busily filling out the activity books to earn their ranger badges.  Damian and Joseph are in front of a great big fireplace with books and a drink and life is pretty good on holidays (oops – vacation)!!

Free joke opportunity...
